We are very happy to be organising the San Silvestre 5k Race this year. In Spain, there is a tradition of organising this race near New Year’s Eve. The Race is one of the most famous and festive running events in the country!

What sets the San Silvestre apart is its festive atmosphere. Participants often wear silly or Christmas-themed costumes, and the streets are lined with cheering spectators. Many people see participating in the San Silvestre as a way to end the year on a healthy and positive note, embracing the spirit of fitness and community. Overall, the San Silvestre is not just a race but a festive and communal event that captures the spirit of celebration and unity as people bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one.

The Race is open to all and starts at Club MMGR, Calle Ceiba, in the Mar Menor Golf Resort at 10.30am on Sunday December 29.

Entry into the race costs €10. For those under 14 years of age it costs €6. Participants must register via the ‘Alcanza Tu Meta’ website.
